I like to dabble with my perfumes as much as the next girl, but there’s always one that I run back to every time. It’s not the classic Dior or Jean Paul Gaultier, it’s Vera Wang Princess. At first judgement it looks as if it will be quite a childish perfume meant for pre-teens, but in fact I love it still at the age of 20. I received this perfume as a gift when I was around 16 in a gift set one Christmas and I have loved it ever since. I’m not a very adventurous person when it comes to new perfumes and often find myself getting a headache from certain scents, but this one has always been a winner in my book. I’ve been hooked ever since the first time I tried it, and it’ll be very difficult to claw me away!

The packaging to this perfume is what may give it that childish edge as it isn’t packaged as elegantly as Dior. Anything named Princess with hearts and crowns near it is usually found in the little girls section of Toys’R’Us, but I’d say this is a great perfume for young women or girls in their late teens. It’s in a beautifully crafted glass heart which gives a ‘diamond’ effect with the jagged edges and the liquid is a beautiful purple colour which gives it an amethyst look. It’s finished off with a crown which represents the lid which is super cute and princess-y as the name may give away.

The scent itself is fruity with a base note of vanilla. It’s quite a strong fragrance, but it’s not overpowering. You can spray a couple of times across yourself and can walk around for the whole day in confidence that you smell great. It’s a more Spring – Summer fragrance so now is the perfect time to purchase a bottle so you can get wearing it soon! The notes in this perfume are focused around the fruity/floral scent, they include Apricot, Apple, Amber, Tiare Flower and Water Lily. I love the freshness of this fragrance and it makes me feel so feel-good whenever I have it on.

I hear a lot of criticism, as previously mentioned, about it being quite a childish perfume. This often puts people off of trying it out, but how can anyone sit there and say they don’t like a perfume they haven’t smelt? I don’t understand, personally. I’ve done it before and been proven wrong many times and I’ve also seen it with people and this fragrance. Princess is available in Boots, Debenhams, The Perfume Shop, John Lewis and many other retailers.
