I’m not a huge traveller, but when I do I absolutely love it. I love everything from the hustle and bustle of the airport to the feeling of no responsibilities because you’re on holiday. Seeing different countries and cultures fascinate me. There is such a spectrum of people and traditions out there and we know of such a small amount of them. I’ve conjured up a ‘wish list’ of my top places I want to visit. Some I’ve wanted to travel to for years, some are a new dream, but one day I’m hoping to have done them all.
First off, this is my most desired place to visit. I have wanted to visit Amsterdam for years. Not to sit getting high in a coffee shop all day every day, but to see the culture and sights. This will sound pretty morbid, but Anne Frank’s story fascinates me and I’ve wanted to visit the Anne Frank Museum for years to learn more about her and her life. Of course, what would a trip to Amsterdam be without going to a sex museum and seeing the crazy things on display? I’ve heard its kind of crazy, but I’d love to go – in a non-creepy way.
New York, I feel, is everyone’s dream. I’ve wanted to go for so long I can’t even remember how long! My obsession grew even more after watching Gossip Girl earlier this year, and right now I think it is my number one dream. I’d have to go in Winter so that I could go to the top of the Empire State Building and take picturesque photos of snow falling over the skyline. I want to visit a cute little coffee shop and have a proper espresso (never had one, I don’t know why), visit Macy’s and Sephora, and visit Ground Zero to pay my respects there too.
Another place I’d love to visit is Paris, the city of romance. I want to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower – no matter how scared I am – and take amazing photos of the view while eating some sort of patisserie snack. Stereotypical, so be it. I want to visit Disneyland and have the absolute best day ever feeling like a princess. Both of these things are very standard if going to Paris, but I’d like to do other things. A cruise along the River Seine at sunset would be such a magical experience, and to put a padlock on the bridge (if that’s still allowed) would also be really nice to do. Paris would definitely be somewhere I go if I want a little romantic break, for sure.
Sticking with France, another place I’d love to go is Cannes. I love the elegance of it and how beautiful everything is there. Can we just take a second to imagine slowly walking along Promenade de la Croisette at sunrise before going to a cute cafe for some breakfast? Just imagining it makes me sad I’m not there. Coastal cities are always my preference, whether that’s because I’m from one, or because they’re just a lot prettier I don’t know, but I just how beautiful the city is.
Finally, on to a further afield destination, my last one of the top five is Australia. I’ve wanted to go to Australia since I was in primary school when a girl moved there and I was super jealous. There’s no place in particular that I’d like to visit, I’d like to trek through all different places so I can experience it all in one go. Obviously, there’s the Opera House and scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, but there is no place that I’d want to visit more than the other so I’d have to do it all I think.
So there you have it, my top 5 places I want to visit in my life. There are many places I want to visit and many things I want to do, but these are the biggest dreams I think.
