In case you haven’t noticed, I’ve had a rebrand! And a pretty big one at that. I have a new logo which I revealed on Facebook a few weeks ago, and today I am launching my new website. How is it? Do you like it? Are you getting around it well? I’ve been quite quiet on the blogging scene recently and now you know why. I’ve been working so hard on this website over the last few months; drawing up designs and getting everything put together. I feel like it’s great to have a little refresh from time to time. It’s handy having my graphic design qualification in these situations because it makes it easier for me to accomplish exactly what I want with my branding.
Branding is so important, especially in this day and age. Something I learnt when studying, working on websites and branding is that it is vital to how you are perceived. If you have rubbish branding then people generally perceive you as a rubbish business or blogger etc. Your brand is something that represents you and what you do, so it’s important to make sure you’re happy with the branding you have. You may not know exactly what you want, but it’s okay to ask for help from a designer as it’s their job to create something that meets expectation – or even beat it. Branding creates trust between you and your audience and also makes you easily identifiable helping your brand to grow easily. It’s important to stand apart from others, more so in the blogging industry as it’s exploded in the last few years. Your branding sets a standard, so if you look the part then your audience will think so too.
Don’t worry, branding doesn’t have to cost a lot. It’s something you can do yourself if you know what you’re doing, but even if you don’t, it’s pretty easy to find someone who does for a reasonable cost. This doesn’t mean to say go with the cheapest person you can find, as it may mean you lose out when it comes to the quality of the work. There are many sites like UpWork where you can submit jobs and if someone likes the sound of creating some work for you then they’ll ‘apply’ with a proposal and you can select who you’d like to do the work from the applicants. After the experience I’ve had in this field I’ve seen many people go for the cheapest options and end up with awful work that doesn’t look good, then not succeed because their branding has let them down, so be sure to do your research before taking any actions. If you’d like any advice, feel free to contact me on any social medias (links to the left).
Admittedly, as much experience as I have, I have had help for more of the technical things on my site from my wonderful boyfriend. He has a bit more experience than me, so I have asked him to give me a hand from time to time. If you have any questions for him go visit his site and ask him anything. He’s also very kindly given me a code so that you can get 10% off anything. That means you can get 10% off your logo, website, anything! All you need to do is put “ablogbycharlie10” in the subject line of your enquiry on his contact form to redeem this offer. To see some of his work visit www.christiedesign.co.uk and say hello!
