Bobbi Brown recently launched a Long-Wear Collection which includes eyeshadows, eyebrow pencils, eyeliners, and mascara. I recently went on a huge make up shop over the Easter bank holiday and had to get these. I was paying for some foundation when these were in a little pot by the checkout and I’d been looking for some long lasting eyeshadows so I thought I’d pick them up and give them a go.
At first I was a bit worried about them being a stick eyeshadow as when I’ve used this type before they didn’t blend well at all. I was really really pleased with the colour choices in this little gift set (3 mini sticks). In this set the shades were Smokey Topaz, Pink Sparkle and Espresso Bean. Smokey Topaz is a shimmery brown, Pink Sparkle is a shimmer pink, and Espresso Bean is a dark brown/black shade.
I simply use a bit of Smokey Topaz on my lid. Then take a bit of Espresso Bean in my crease and blend with an eyeshadow contour brush. This gives an amazing smokey eye effect and is also gorgeous as a day look too. I use a little bit of Pink Sparkle along my bottom lash line to brighten the eyes and make them look bigger.
When I first tried them I tried to literally use Espresso Bean in my crease like a pencil, and it went crazy dark. I would recommend if you use this shade in the crease, don’t do that. I now dab it in the crease and blend inwards to the lid.
The main focus of these was the fact they’re long-wear, and Bobbi Brown have got them absolutely spot on. I can wear these all day, go out with the same eyeshadow on and I will still come home looking flawless. They don’t smudge or drip or build up in the crease like I have known some eyeshadows to.
As a sufferer of hay fever I worry about how eyeshadows will look when I rub my eyes, but with these I need not worry! They do not rub off, they don’t smudge onto your finger if you do rub it.
These Bobbie Brown eyeshadow sticks are a holy grail from now on. They’re a little expensive, but they are well worth the money so it’s fine by me! (And the packaging is super nice too).
