It’s been a long time since my last foundation review. This foundation review itself is really overdue for me. I have been using this Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless Foundation for quite a few months now. So, its about time that I gave you a well informed review of my findings. Have I finally found a drugstore solution to my oiliness?

When deciding to purchase this Maybelline foundation, I had never used any of their face products previously (to my memory). I’d only previously used their matte lipsticks which I love. From trying the lipsticks, I already had great first impressions of the brand. However, for foundations, I went in with an open mind. I’d never read a review of this one. I was in the middle of Boots when deciding on what one to buy. It was the Matte and Poreless name that sucked me in as this was exactly what I was needing.

Over the months, I have naturally put this foundation through its paces and tried applying it in multiple ways. When applying this on its own, I find it to be a little temperamental. This is mainly on my nose, but is easily fixable with a bit of extra work to get it blended nicely. Honestly, I wouldn’t say there is much of a difference when applying with a beauty blender versus a brush. The only difference between them is that a beauty blender is a lot quicker so I tend to reach for this more often.

Primer makes such a huge difference with this foundation too. I found the application to be less slippery compared to how it is without the primer there. It just feels a lot easier to work into the skin with a primer’s help. The finish of this foundation either way is so beautiful.

This foundation is advertised as a medium-full coverage. I would say on first application it is definitely more of a medium coverage. Saying this, it is extremely buildable, so it can be easily layered to get that full coverage look. I love a full coverage foundation, so after a couple of layers I am very happy with how this covered my skin. Once I have it on, there’s no blemishes visible and my skin looks perfect.

Maybelline claim this foundation to be a 12 hour wear foundation. I say this every time, but I never wear my foundation for 12 hours. Actually, I’m a liar. There was actually one time that I have worn this foundation for 12+ hours. This was when I saw Foo Fighters back in September. I wore it for 14+ hours, woah. During this time, I travelled to London and back, walked around London, and got a bit sweaty at the O2 Arena. However, when I got home at around 2am, my makeup still looked really good. I have never been let down by this foundation on any of my nights / days out to be honest. It helps control my oil so well – I’m very impressed by it.

I truly love this Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless foundation. I have used it every day since first trying it, simply because it does exactly what it’s advertised to do. I’ve repurchased it so many times over the last few months, I just can’t get enough. It’s so good that it’s actually overtaken my beloved MAC Studio Fix as my favourite foundation ever.

Speaking of which, the Maybelline Fit Me! Matte and Poreless foundation is super similar in every aspect. That’s one of the things that made me love it even more. I personally think it is the perfect dupe for the MAC Studio Fix foundation. What makes it even better is that it’s less than a third of the price at £6.99!

I would truly recommend this foundation to anyone that is struggling with their oily skin. It works so well, all year round, whatever the weather. There’s no bad words that I can say about it that really stand out to be honest – I just can’t stop raving about it.

Have you tried this foundation before? If you have, let me know what you thought in the comments below. If you haven’t, are you now tempted to give it a go?
