Your skin is so important, maybe more important than you realise. It’s vital to have a skin care routine, but even more, that it works. Today’s post will be my weekly skincare routine. By weekly I don’t mean that I do this and only this once a week. It means that I do think once a week, but still do my daily routine every other day of the week. Some of these parts might be absolutely pointless, but my skin feels and looks so good after, I don’t care.

My first staple step is to remove my makeup. To do this I use Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish as just one pump removes my makeup like a dream. Using circular motions I massage the product into my skin without using water. It may go a gross colour, especially when removing eye makeup, but ignore that! It means it’s working. I rinse off the product with a Liz Earle cotton cloth and warm water.

After I’ve rinsed my face off, I then take the Simple Exfoliating Face Wash. This gets rid of any excess that may possibly be there and helps control the oil balance in my skin. I use this in the same way as the Cleanse & Polish, but I won’t massage it in for as long. 30 seconds is long enough just so it gets to be troublesome areas.

To hydrate my skin I use the Botanics Hydration Burst Dual Action Cleanser. Botanics is a Boots own brand that is super affordable so I highly recommend it because it really does work. This is in my everyday routine too and it truly has made a difference to my skin. My dry patches are virtually non-existent. With this product, I simply wash my face with it, but I leave the product on for about a minute so it can really get into my skin.

Now my next product is actually for men. It’s the Loreal Men Expert Pure Power Black Charcoal Wash. I use this almost like a face mask where I will rub it all over my face, fan it down for a couple of minutes and then rinse off while still using circular motions. I notice a difference in my skin instantly with this. My pores look visibly smaller and blackheads vanished! I’m so happy I took a chance with this after seeing it on Connor’s shelf.

My last step while I’m in the bath is, of course, a face mask! My go-to face mask is Mask of Magnaminty from Lush and I adore it so much. I love this face mask because I can literally feel it working from the second I put it on my face. I spread a small layer all over my face while focussing on my T-zone and where my pores can be a pain. It gets left on for about 10 minutes then rub off with hot water.

If you think that’s where this ends, then you’re oh so wrong. Once I’m out the bath there are a couple more steps. The first thing I do when I get out the bath is tone my face using my The Body Shop Tea Tree Toner. To do this I simply put a little on a cotton pad and pat it all over my face and down my neck. This helps my skin stay youthful and help the anti-aging process. I know I’m only 20, but why not start early, right?

Last, but not least, I use some Simple Hydrating Moisturiser on my cheeks and some The Body Shop Night Lotion under my eyes. This keeps my skin hydrated and sinks into my skin overnight while I sleep. The night lotion definitely helps with my under eyes, which is a God send after all these mid-night awakenings!

There you have it, my long ass skin care routine. Like I said, I do this weekly so it isn’t so bad, and doesn’t actually take as long as it may sound. I do this on a Saturday or Sunday evening depending what my plans are. I have normal skin and this works wonders on my skin, but because of the hydrating products, this could also work really nicely if you have dry skin. It makes my skin feel absolutely amazing and I wish I had the time to do it every single day!
