Yes, here is another foundation review. I know I posted one not too long ago and it was going well, but I wanted to find something better. As I mentioned, the wear of the L’Oreal Infallible Total Cover just wasn’t what I’d hoped. Oil is a serious issue for me, especially in the hotter weather. I need something that was going to wear all day and not slip off my face. So I decided to try out the Clinique Superbalanced Makeup.
I’ve been using this Clinique foundation for about a week now. That may not seem like long enough to get judgement, but it has been put through the paces. I’ve worn it to work, a night out, work outs, during hot weather and humidity too! I had it recommended to me by so many people, and I mean a lot of people. On the Clinique website, it claims to balance skin and control oil. So taking all of this into account, I decided to put it to the test.
My first impressions of this foundation was extremely good. I didn’t start feeling oily half way through the day, so that already built some hope in my mind. The true hopefulness set in when Connor noticed how not-oily I was when we got home after work. When I looked in the mirror, I was not even half as oily as I was using previous foundations. So straight off of the bat, this Clinique foundation impressed me so much!
The week started very humid – it was horrible. However, for the sake of this foundation review, it was kind of helpful. I feel my most gross and oily when it is humid outside, so it really put it to the test. This foundation stood the test of time through it all. I’m not even joking when I say I could’ve cried with happiness! My skin still looked flawless, my foundation didn’t budge. I was still slightly oily, but that’s expected – especially with humidity making it 100x worse!
If you’ve been following my social media, you’ll know I’ve been getting back into the groove of working out. I’m pretty good at remembering to take off my makeup before a workout. However, one day I did forget because I simply forgot that I had it on! It’s so lightweight on that I often do forget it’s there, which to me is a good thing. During my workout, obviously I was very sweaty, but I came out the other side looking semi-decent. It would’ve only needed slight touchups to be presentable, but that would’ve been far too gross for me to handle.
Something that is really important to me when it comes to foundation is the application. So far this foundation probably sounds too good to be true if you’ve not tried it, how could it get any better? Now, I’m not exaggerating when I say this Clinique foundation is the best I’ve ever used when it comes to application. It goes on so stunning, it blends amazingly and is so natural looking. I was actually asked why I wasn’t wearing makeup like usual on my night out when wearing it. That may not appeal to some, but it is buildable into full coverage if that’s what you prefer.
Overall, in case you can’t tell, I’m head over heels with this foundation! Clinique have truly ticked all of the boxes with it. I definitely won’t be needing to rush out and find a replacement! I can’t wait to continue using it and seeing how I get on with it throughout Summer. If you’re one of the many people that have tweeted me this week to let them know if I’d recommend this, my answer is: definitely! I would 110% recommend this foundation to anyone battling oil issues or looking for a natural looking foundation.
