Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la!
So the festive season is upon us which means it’s time for people’s Christmas parties and celebrations. I enjoy this time of year because you can do all the smokey eyes in the world and it be okay, so I thought I’d create a dramatic Christmas party look using Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette.
I started off applying my Rimmel primer and Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation. I simply apply these two products before moving on to the eyes so I can use concealer to tidy up the edges afterwards and finish off my complexion.
For the eyes, I wanted to use one palette so this is an easy and affordable look to recreate. I chose to use the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette for this smokey eye because it has some gorgeous brown and gold shades.
To begin with I took ‘Busted’ through the crease, and then ‘Blackout’ in the outer crease. I only do this lightly as I go over this again later on. I also take the shade ‘Tease’ lightly over the top and then slightly above the crease too. This creates a smokey blend and depth to the crease and defines it a lot more.
On the actual lid I used ‘Half Baked’ in the middle third of the lid and packed quite a lot on to make this stand out against the darker shades. On the outer third of the lid I blend ‘Chopper’ into ‘Half Baked’, then go through the outer crease lightly again with ‘Blackout’ to blend this all together. On the inner third of the lid I used ‘Verve’ to lighten my eye and contrast against the gold tone in ‘Half Baked’.
If you want to you could take ‘Busted’ along the bottom lash line, but this isn’t necessary. To create a thicker lash line I used some MAC gel eyeliner to create a winged line to sharpen the edge of the shadow and finished with some Benefit They’re Real mascara.
I then finished off my complexion using some Rimmel concealer, powder, MAC powder to contour and my Revlon highlighting palette.
Here is the finished look:
I apologise for the funny poses, Connor was my photographer and was making me chuckle. Bless!
Let me know what you think of this look, and show me if you recreate it!
