I wasn’t sure if I was going to do this post to be honest. The hype has kind of blown over a bit. However, here it is thanks to the people of Twitter who voted to still do it. I’ll always come through for the people, so this one’s for you. I just feel like it’s all been said and done, but this is my thoughts and opinions on the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette.

Keeping it real, when I first heard about this palette I wasn’t all that excited. I knew of Jaclyn, but I wasn’t a subscriber and didn’t know too much about her. It was only when I actually saw the palette and I was instantly attracted to it. Reviews started popping up on YouTube and after watching a few I knew that I needed to get my hands on it. Once I’d decided I was getting it, I felt like I needed to know more about who was creating it. This was when I went over to Jaclyn’s channel and watched her video all about the palette. She’s infectious, in a good way. I subscribed instantly, I just knew I would enjoy watching her.

I picked up this Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette on its second release and when it was delivered I was so excited. The packaging of this palette is stunning. It’s everything I love in life; minimalistic, white and silver. It is absolute aesthetic goals. The only thing I dislike is that it’s made of cardboard which makes worry about it getting damaged or dented. It also comes with a clear protective layer, and a small card labelling all of the shade names. I kind of wish the names were on the actual palette because I’m worried about losing the card. Saying this, it does mean the pans are bigger so I guess I’ll survive.

If you saw my recent post about my eyeshadow collection, you’ll have gathered I’ve used a fair few eyeshadows. I say this, because this formula felt unlike anything I’ve used before. They’re such a creamy consistency, they almost didn’t feel like powder at first. It didn’t take too long to get used to though, and once I had, I was well on my way. I am obsessed with this formula because it’s so easy to blend, the fall out isn’t crazy, and the pigment is there. This isn’t the most pigmented palette ever, but the pigment is alive and real. I have no complaints in regards to this, which I know was something a lot of people have spoken about before the release and on first release.

As usual in Morphe palettes, the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette has 35 shades. For a price point of $38, this is such amazing value. Yet again, this is something that people had something to say about. Personally, I’m more than happy to pay $38 for 35 eyeshadows. That’s $1.08 per shadow – how can people moan!? The shade range of it is unreal; brights, neutrals, pinks, yellows. I’ve found myself reaching for shades that I wouldn’t typically think of using – ahem, turquoise. The brights and shimmers seem to be the ones I’m playing with most at the moment. I need to start loving the warm toned browns and oranges a bit more because they speak to my soul. The palette is so pleasing to look at, all of the colours tie together somehow and it just works.

I say this in every single eyeshadow review, but I am a matte girl through and through. When I counted 19 matte shades in this palette, I was shook to the core. I was ecstatic of course. Even though, I have been reaching for the shimmers a lot more than I usually would. This palette has bought a playful, experimental side to me and I’m kind of really loving it. I find the shimmers are so perfect for cut creases and halo eyes, which are my favourite kind of looks at the moment.

The possibilities with this palette are endless, which again takes me back to the price point being so worth it. This isn’t a palette you’re going to get a couple of looks out of then never use again. This is a palette you’re going to get hundreds of looks out of and use endlessly. I can tell already this is going to be my new Modern Renaissance. You’re probably going to get so bored of seeing it. I already have a few looks lined up using it!

Overall, the Morphe X Jaclyn Hill palette is great. I’m not sure where all the controversy came from when it first came onto the scene, but I’m just glad it hasn’t been the case for me. I can’t wait to carry on using it and obsessing over it. I’ve already bored everyone in person talking about it, now it’s time to bore the internet (sorry). It’s made me want to buy more Morphe palettes to see how they match up. If you have any requests on looks or shades you want me to use, let me know in the comments! Like I said at the start, I will always try to come through and deliver for you.
