If I was asked what my two favourite things to buy are, I would have to say lipsticks and eyeshadows. I always say that you can never have too many because there is so much you can do with them. I’m always on the look for new palettes to buy and try. I’ve had this palette for a while and use it a lot, especially for work. It’s the Iconic 3 palette from Makeup Revolution, which is a brand that is certainly making a name for themselves.
I want to start by talking about the shades in this palette and I think they’re absolutely gorgeous! The dusky pinks and deep browns make it the perfect palette for Summer. You’re able to create some really bright, fresh looks that look great day or night. My favourite shade out of the twelve is the fifth one, a pink shimmer. That may come as a shock as I’m not a lover of shimmer, but it’s so pretty! I often use this one, or the light brown matte, on its own for a quick look for work. Like I said, I’m not a lover of shimmer, and with seven out of the twelve shades being shimmer, it’s not typically something I’d go for. However, I do get very good use out of them all so it’s done quite well!
The formula of these shadows are actually quite good – they apply really nicely and blend really well. The pigmentation is also something that I can’t really fault. I never struggle to create a really pretty look with this as it’s so blendable and easy to use! Something that I do find a bit of an issue is something that is expected with a lot of shimmers and darker shades. Fallout can be a struggle as the shadows are so powdery, but like I say it is expected with such an affordable palette.
The price point on this palette is the best bit about it. Not only is it great for the shades, or the pigmentation, but it’s also great for your bank balance. This palette is just a mere £4! I know right, how crazy is that!? I understand that it’s not going to be the same quality as Urban Decay for that price point, but I can’t really fault it in regards to the price. The only give away to the price would be the packaging. It’s very basic; plastic with the Makeup Revolution branding on it and no mirror. It is a compact palette because of this though so it is really good for travelling.
The main question out of all of this is: is it worth £4? Honestly, 110% yes! It’s great for pigmentation, the shade range, blendability. If you’re just getting into makeup and want a ‘starter’ palette, the Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 is perfect for you! It’s the same price as a freakin’ meal deal! In case you can’t tell, I am a fan.
Like I said at the start of this post, I’m always looking for things to try. Are there any other products you want me to try from this brand or another brand with similar pricing? I really want to try more “cheap” products, and of course, if there’s anything, in particular, you want just let me know in the comments or on Twitter.
