It’s been so long since I’ve done a good ol’ fashioned make up look. So what better way than to kick off 2017 than with one of my favourite looks in a while. I wore this look for a night out just before Christmas and loved how it turned out and received some lovely comments on Instagram too! It’s so simple, but so glam and perfect for any party you have coming up. It’s a bold crease & liner with some flirty lashes to top it off.
I’ve gotten into the habit of doing my eyes first lately so that any fallout doesn’t ruin the face makeup. To prep my lids I applied a small amount of concealer to block out any discolouring. Then setting that with some translucent powder so I am able to blend easily. I then go through my crease with a mix of Foxy and Tease from the Naked 2 palette as my transition shade. This look focussed on the crease so I work on this first before going on to my lid shade. It’s important to build the colours steadily – you can always add, but never take away.
To begin the intense crease I blend out Gallery from the Zoeva En Taupe palette. I then built up on the darkness by adding small amounts of Embark by MAC, while focussing more on the outer corner. Once I was happy with that, I then went in with a tiny amount of Blackout from Naked 2 through the crease. To make my outer corner more intense, I took Blackout and applied a generous amount to the area. To smoke it out, I blended it to the ends of the Earth. Admittedly, I was quite rough with blending and I wiped away the excess to straighten the edge.
Once I was happy with my crease, I then went onto my lid. My lid was covered in a lot of my crease colours, so I applied a small amount of concealer on the inner two thirds to create a new base for my lid colour. I wanted something opposite to my crease, and I use gold quite often, so I decided on silver. To get my silver really silver and not just a shimmer I packed it on with a flat brush instead of swiping it on. The shades I used was a mixture of Metal-ica (Balm Jovi palette) and Spun Pearl (En Taupe palette). I made sure I blend it well between the outer corner shades to make the transition smooth.
Like I said, I wiped away any excess on the outer corner and created a straight edge for my liner. The liner I used was the Bourjois Liner Pinceau Eyeliner. It has a thin tip so I can use it really precisely. I’m not the best at liner so it did take me a while to get absolutely perfect.
The rest of my makeup was done as normal, so I won’t bore you with the same routine. I wanted to keep my lips nude because of the intense eye look, so I used Nyx Lingerie Lace Detail. The lashes I used are the Eylure Exaggerate 141 Lashes.
Let me know if you try this look out as I love seeing your takes on any look I do, and be sure you’re keeping up to date on all my social medias!
